Cement Grinding Unit Manufacturer

CNBM provides turnkey cement grinding plant solutions with capacities from 15 to 250 tpd, including grinding, classification, conveying, and dust collection systems. We focus on optimizing the grinding process flow to improve grinding efficiency and lower energy consumption.

A cement grinding unit uses finished cement clinker as the main raw material instead of producing it in cement kilns first. As the final stage of cement production, it eliminates clinker-making equipment, reducing investment capital. A cement grinding plant is also an eco-friendly solution because it consumes industrial waste residues such as slag, fly ash, furnace slag, and coal gangue.

Typical Applications
Ball Mill Grinding System
Ball Mill + Separator + Dust Collector + Feeding System
Steel balls provide impact and grinding forces to grind clinker, gypsum, and additives. The separator controls the final product fineness.
Approx. 30–40 kWh/t
Small to large scale
Approx. 20–300 t/h
1. Mature and reliable technology
2. Strong adaptability to different materials
3. Stable cement quality
4. Easy maintenance and widely available spare parts
1. Higher energy consumption
2. Large equipment size and footprint
3. Higher noise level
4. Lower grinding efficiency
Low–Medium
Traditional cement plants, small and medium grinding stations, retrofit projects
Roller Press Final Grinding System
Roller Press + V Separator / Dynamic Separator + Dust Collector
High-pressure grinding between rollers creates micro-cracks inside particles, then the separator controls the final product size.
Approx. 20–28 kWh/t
Medium to large scale
Approx. 50–300 t/h
1. Lower energy consumption, saving about 25–40% compared with ball mills
2. High production capacity
3. Compact layout and smaller footprint
4. Suitable for large-scale cement grinding
1. Higher operation requirements
2. Roller surface wear requires maintenance
3. Sensitive to material moisture content
Medium
New large cement grinding plants, energy-saving upgrade projects
Vertical Roller Mill Final Grinding System (VRM)
Vertical Roller Mill + Separator + Dust Collector + Feeding System
Grinding rollers press materials against the rotating grinding table. Hot air can simultaneously provide drying, conveying, and classification functions.
Approx. 18–28 kWh/t
Large scale
Approx. 100–600 t/h
1. One of the lowest energy consumption grinding technologies
2. Integrates grinding, drying, and separation
3. Small footprint
4. High automation level
5. Suitable for continuous large-scale production
1. Higher initial investment
2. Requires advanced manufacturing and maintenance technology
3. Wear parts influence operation stability
High
Large modern cement plants and advanced grinding stations
Roller Press and Ball Mill Combined Grinding System
Roller Press + Ball Mill + Separator
Roller press performs pre-grinding to improve material grindability, followed by ball mill finishing to achieve required cement fineness.
Approx. 25–32 kWh/t
Medium to large scale
Approx. 80–300 t/h
1. Lower energy consumption than traditional ball mill systems
2. Stable cement quality
3. Excellent solution for upgrading existing ball mill systems
4. Strong material adaptability
1. More complex process flow
2. More equipment and maintenance points
3. Higher system control requirements
Medium–High
Energy-saving retrofit of existing cement grinding plants
Cement Vertical Mill and Ball Mill Combined Grinding System
Vertical Roller Mill + Ball Mill + Separator
The vertical roller mill performs efficient coarse grinding, while the ball mill provides final grinding to improve cement particle size distribution and performance.
Approx. 22–30 kWh/t
Large scale
Approx. 100–500 t/h
1. Combines high efficiency and good cement performance
2. Better particle size distribution
3. Suitable for high-quality cement production
4. Flexible operation
1. Higher investment cost
2. Complex process control
3. Higher maintenance requirements

Cement Grinding Process

cement grinding process
1

Feeding

Various raw materials (clinker, gypsum, and admixtures) are precisely weighed according to a preset ratio and transported via belt conveyor to a surge bin above the roller press, from which they are evenly fed into the press.

2

Grinding

The material is first compressed into fine flakes by the high pressure of the roller press, then fed into a ball mill (or vertical mill), where grinding media subject it to impact and fine grinding, ultimately producing cement powder.

3

Powder Separation

Material discharged from the mill is carried by airflow into a powder separator. Finished product meeting fineness specifications is carried away, while coarse particles return to the mill for regrinding, forming a closed-loop circuit.

4

Dust Removal

Dust-laden air flows into a large bag filter; filter bags capture the finished cement while purified air is discharged into the atmosphere.

5

Storage and Packaging

Finished cement is transported to large cement silos, then packed into bags or shipped directly via bulk transport vehicles.
