Product Introduction
The girth gear and pinion are transmission devices of ball mills. They are toothed mechanical parts that can mesh with each other. When the ball mill rotates, the pinion on the reducer meshes with the girth gear, thereby driving the ball mill to run. Its weight, volume, and cost occupy a large proportion of the whole set of ball mill equipment, and its work efficiency has an important impact on the normal operation of the ball mill.
Ball mill pinion is also called ball mill pinion gear. Different from other mechanical transmission gear, its role is to transfer power according to the specified speed ratio. When the ball mill rotates, the pinion is subjected to a huge torque force. The wear grade of the pinion is higher, and the keyway and key strength of the girth gear are required to be higher.
Materials of ball mill pinion
The material of ball mill pinion can be generally divided into 35 silicon manganese, 40 chromium molybdenum, forged steel quenching, and so on.
High-carbon cast steel is usually used for making the ball mill pinion. To obtain high tensile strength, alloy steel containing silicon, manganese, nickel, and molybdenum may be used. Generally, the girth gear of the ball mill is lower in hardness than the pinion gear. ZG45 is usually adopted for small-scale ball mills. ZG310-570 is preferred for ball mills with larger diameters such as 2.2m or wider. It is more wear-resistant than ZG45 and has good hardness and toughness.
