A cement roller press is also referred to as a roller press cement mill, or cement roller press machine. It is a grinding equipment that can be applied for greenfield cement grinding plants or upgraded cement grinding plants. It has the features of low consumption and high efficiency compared to the traditional ball mill pre-grinding system. The output in a roller press grinding system can be significantly improved by 30-50%.

Working principle of cement roller press

Two horizontally positioned, simultaneously revolving extrusion rollers are the primary source of high-pressure material crushing in the roller press. Through forced downward movement, the closed material layer is gradually raised to a sufficient extrusion pressure until it is crushed, extruded into a dense cake, and released from the machine. This cake has very little mechanical strength and grinds up easily. About 60–70% of the cake’s material particles are smaller than 2 mm, and there are a lot of microcracks.
Roller press in cement plant grinding system

Roller presses can work with cement ball mills and vertical roller mills and can work independently in cement plant grinding systems.
Pre-grinding system
After grinding by the rollers, materials at the roller end are still relatively large since the pressure there is relatively low. Those materials return to the weighing silo. The intermediate material passes through the distributing valve under the roller press and is fed into the ball mill, some of which goes back to the cement roller press to improve the density of material in the section to ensure the grinding effect. The cement ball mill and high-efficiency operator make the grinding system. Qualified materials are separated from the o sepa separator, coarse ones return to the cement ball mill for further grinding.

Feature
The process is simple, the task for the cement roller press is small, the material circulation can not exceed 100% of the new feed amount, the system energy saving range is about 20%, the output can be increased by about 40%, and the equipment layout is easy.
Combined grinding system
After the material passes through the roller press, it must be broken up and graded by the V-type separator. The coarse particles return to the roller press for re-extrusion, and the fine particles are semi-finished in the cement mill. Therefore, the particle size of the material entering the mill is more uniform, the efficiency of the grinding system is higher, the fineness of the semi-finished product can be changed according to the requirements of the final product, and the roller press will be responsible for more grinding tasks accordingly.

Feature
The system is relatively complex, the material circulation volume of the roller press is 200-300% of the new feed volume, the system energy-saving range is about 40%, and the mill output can be increased by about 100%.
Semi-finish grinding system
The cake squeezed by the roller press is broken up and then sent to the separator. The fine particles do not need to go through the ball mill and are the finished product. The coarse particle is ground in the ball mill and then selected by the separator. The finished product consists of the fine particles squeezed by the roller press and the fine particles from the ball mill.

Feature
The products using this system have narrow particle distribution and high uniformity coefficients. The feed of the separator in the semi-final grinding system is quite different from that in the general closed-circuit grinding system, so the selection of the powder selector is particularly important.
Finish grinding system
Finish grinding means that only the roller press is used to complete the task of grinding the finished product. This system has a large amount of circulation, requiring the roller press capacity to be greatly improved.
Feature
In a certain production capacity, the system output is low, which limits the large number of applications of the system.
